Title
An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the acceptance of donations of personal property by the Allegheny County Police.
Body
Whereas, Lisa Grosz has offered to donate, for use by the Allegheny County Police, a 13 year old dark brown Thorobred gelding; and
Whereas, Jesse Rogers has offered to donate, for use by the Allegheny County Police, a 6 year old chestnut Tennessee Walker mare; and
Whereas, the Allegheny County Police have had these animals examined by a veterinarian, and the horses have been found to be in excellent health; and
Whereas, the Allegheny County Police recommend acceptance of said proposed personal property; and
Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2.j. of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County Council with the power to accept personal property on behalf of the County.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
Section 2. Acceptance of Donations of Personal Property
County Council does hereby authorize the Allegheny County Police Department on behalf of Allegheny County to accept the following donations:
A. “King Honna”, a 13 year old dark brown Thorobred, donated by Lisa Drosz; and
B. “Easter”, a 6 year old chestnut Tennessee Walker mare, donated by Jesse Rogers.
Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.
Section 4. Repealer. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
Summary
This ordinance will authorize acceptance of the donation of two (2) horses for use by the Allegheny County Police.
