An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the County’s acceptance of the donation of 1475 feet of 5-inch fire hose from Seville Volunteer Fire Company.

                     Whereas, Seville Volunteer Fire Company (“Seville VFCO”) has offered to donate 1475 feet of 5-inch fire hose (“Hose”) to the County for use by the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy; and

 

                     Whereas, the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy wishes to accept the donation of Hose to replace and supplement existing fire hose used for fire training; and

 

                     Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2(j) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County’s Council with the power to accept donations of personal property on behalf of the County.

 

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

 

SECTION 1.                                            Incorporation of Preamble.

 

The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.

 

SECTION 2.                                          Authorization to Accept Donated Equipment.

 

A.                     County Council does hereby authorize the acceptance of Seville VFCO’s donation of Hose.

 

B.                     The donated Hose shall be used by the Allegheny County Emergency Services Fire Academy to replace and supplement existing fire hose used for fire training.

 

C.                     The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.

 

 

SECTION 3.                                          SeverabilityIf any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.

 

 

SECTION 4.                                          RepealerAny Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Ordinance.

 

 

SECTION 5.                                          Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately.
