Property Sale

Block and Lot 830-D-332, Hampton Township

The subject property is excess right-of-way on State Route 8, Hampton Township.  The County acquired this parcel in 1931.  The Law Department received an inquiry from the adjacent property owners, Paul and Barbara Hengelsberg, regarding plans for future use of the property.  The Department of Public Works inspected the parcel and considers it to be excess real estate.  The property was then appraised and determined to be undevelopable due to its steep grade and limited frontage.  The parcel was advertised for public bid at a minimum price of $5,000.  The highest bidders were Paul and Barbara Hengelsberg at $11,500.  We request approval to convey the County's interest in Block and Lot 830-D-332 and authorize the County Manager to sign the deed.
