TITLE
A Resolution of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, granting Allegheny County Economic Development authority to apply for and, if awarded, accept grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development's Shared Municipal Services Program.
BODY
WHEREAS, Allegheny County Economic Development is undertaking the Allegheny County Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development makes available grants-in-aid to such projects through the Shared Municipal Services Program; and
WHEREAS, the Allegheny County Economic Development desires to apply for and, if awarded, accept and implement $50,000.00 of grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Shared Municipal Services Program to fund the drafting and compilation of the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Shared Municipal Services Program grant requires an equal matching contribution from Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be matched by $25,000.00 funds from the 2002 County Capital Budget and $25,000.00 in-kind contributions by Allegheny County Economic Development.
Be it resolved by the Council of Allegheny County as follows:
SECTION I. AUTHORIZATION TO APPLY FOR, AND IF AWARDED, ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT A $50,000.00 GRANT FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT'S SHARED MUNICIPAL SERVICES PROGRAM.
A. That the Council of Allegheny County hereby authorizes Allegheny County Economic Development to apply for and, if awarded, accept $50,000.00 of grant funds from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Shared Municipal Services Program to fund the drafting and compilation of the Comprehensive Plan; and
B. County Council does hereby further authorize the County's Director of Economic Development or his authorized representative or delegate to take any and all actions necessary, subject to the approval of the Chief Executive, to carry out the authorization to apply for and accept the aforesaid grant.
SECTION II. If any provision of this Resolution shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Resolution which shall be in full force and effect.
SECTION III. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
