Resolution authorizing Inter-Departmental budget transfers 40 and 41.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.

The following transfers are approved as follows:'

40. Transfer $43,000.00 from the General Contingency to Office of Property Assessment - Property Assessment Administration - Contracted Services.  This funding is requested to cover the expense of five temporary clerical workers supporting the appeals process.  This number of clerical personnel are required to assist in scheduling appeal hearings, processing appeals, appraisals, postponements, reschedules of postponements, processing hearing officers documents, processing dispositions of hearing results and processing mailings approximately 3,500 County Office Building hearings, 750 community hearings, 2,800 disposition notices and 1,000 other documents each week.  As of 08/05/02 there were approximately 72,557 appeals remaining for 2002.  Transfer from Index Code 574004, Sub-Object 8801 TO Index Code 809756, Sub-Object 3314.

41. Transfer $17,000 from the General Contingency to Office of Property Assessment - Property Assessment Administration - Contracted Services.  This funding is requested to cover the expense of two temporary workers supporting the Public Information Center.  These individuals work on the phone bank to answer the 400+ phone calls that come in each day.  In addition, these individuals work at the counter where they handle information requests for the 100+ daily walk-in customers.  Transfer from Index Code 574004, Sub-Object 8801 TO Index Code 809756, Sub-Object 3314.

 

 

 

 

SECTION                     2.                     If any provision of this Resolution shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Resolution which shall be in full force and effect.

 

 

 

SECTION                     3.                     Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
