Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Budget & Finance Committee to conduct public hearings, pursuant to § 801.05 of the Administrative Code on Tuesday, October 28, at 5p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at 5 p.m. and Thursday October 30 , at 5pm. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Budget & Finance Chair Michael J. Finnerty will serve as the presiding officer.
One purpose of these hearings is to allow the public opportunity to comment on the proposed budgets for the 2015 calendar year before passage. Public testimony is scheduled from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. on October 28th, 29th and 30th. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings and are also asked to provide twenty copies of their testimony. Written testimony will be accepted through Friday, November 7th, 2014.
The other purpose of these hearings is to have departments and agencies funded by the County appear before the Budget & Finance Committee to present their requests and answer questions posed by the members. The final hearing schedule shall be provided to all participants in advance of the hearings and shall also be publicly advertised.
The Members of the Budget & Finance Committee that are committed to attend the hearing include: Council Member Council Member Michael J. Finnerty, Chair; Council Member Bob Macey, and Council Member John Palmiere.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Budget & Finance Committee is hereby authorized to conduct public hearings, pursuant to §801.05 of the Administrative Code on Tuesday, October 28, at 5p.m., Wednesday, October 29, at 5 p.m. and Thursday October 30 , at 5pm. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Budget & Finance Chair Michael J. Finnerty will serve as the presiding officer. All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
