TITLE
An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania authorizing the Chief Executive to execute a Deed conveying two (2) real parcels located in North Versailles Township and owned by the County of Allegheny to the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County.
BODY
Whereas, the County of Allegheny currently owns two(2) certain parcels designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as 376-H-140 and 376-H-172 located in North Versailles Township (“the Parcels”); and
Whereas, the Parcels have remained vacant, undeveloped and tax exempt for many years; and
Whereas, the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County, pursuant to a duly adopted Redevelopment Plan specified by the Commonwealth's Urban Redevelopment Law, for the general area in which the Parcels located, has commenced activities to acquire all the Parcels located therein in order to facilitate the assembly and systematic development of the area; and
Whereas, Article IV Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County's Council with the power and duty by ordinance to convey real property owned by the County.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference in their entirety herein.
Section 2.
The County Council of Allegheny County hereby does approve the conveyance of two parcels of real estate designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as 376-H-140 and 376-H-172 and owned by the County of Allegheny to the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County.
Said conveyance of real existing of approximately 2.1 acres shall be without payment of consideration.
The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents, including deeds, necessary to effectuate the conveyance of the County's interest in these Parcels.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance which shall be in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
