An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the use of county owned real property, namely, a house and surrounding property located in Boyce Park, by FAMILY LINKS, INC.

                     Whereas, The County of Allegheny is owner of a house in Boyce Park which has been occupied by FAMILY LINKS for several years,

 

                     Whereas, FAMILY LINKS, INC. and the County of Allegheny wish to enter into a formal agreement for continued use of said property,

 

                     Whereas,  The County deems it in the County's best interest for FAMILY LINKS, INC. to continue to offer this valuable community services which has offered help, education and support to many families,

 

                     Whereas, by continuing this use, the County enjoys enhanced community services and public relations.

 

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

 

SECTION 1.                                          Incorporation of the Preamble.

 

                                          The provision set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference in their entirely herein.

 

SECTION 2.                       Authorization for the use of County Owned Real Property.

 

A.                     Allegheny County Council  hereby approves the use of County owned real property in Boyce Park, located at 720 Center Road, Plum Borough.

 

B.                     The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute any and all                      documents necessary to effectuate the lease of the property.

 

 

SECTION 3.                      Severability.  If any provision of this Ordinance shall be                      determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision                      shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance                      which shall be in full force and effect.

 

SECTION 4.                                           Repealer.  Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof                      conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as                      the same affects this Ordinance.

Please process the attached Ordinance for the continued use of property located at 720 Center Road, BOYCE PARK, Plum Borough. PA.

 

FAMILY LINKS, INC. formerly known as Whales Tale has provided service to the community for many years.  The Department of Parks has worked with this organization, mutually preparing a lease agreement which now formally permits the programs offered by FAMILY LINKS, INC.   Family Links, Inc. will pay the county $1,000 per month, in addition to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facilities and maintenance of the facility and all utilities.   Terms and conditions are more fully described in said Agreement.
