TITLE
A Resolution authorizing the Allegheny County Police Training Academy to apply for and to accept one hundred percent reimbursable training, grants from the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) and agreeing to adhere to all rules, regulations and training standards established by MPOETC for such training grants.
BODY
Whereas, the County, through the Allegheny County Police Training Academy, is desirous of submitting a grant application to the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) for one hundred percent (100%) reimbursement of monies expended for expenses incurred pursuant to the training provisions of the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120 of 1974); and
Whereas, a formal resolution of the County is necessary to apply for and to receive a MPOETDC grant; and
Whereas, as a condition for receipt of a training grant, MPOETC requires all applicants to agree to adhere to the rules, regulations and training standards established by MPOETC.
The Council of Allegheny County hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1. The County of Allegheny, acting by and through the Allegheny County Police Training Academy, is authorized to apply for and to accept a one hundred percent (100%) reimbursable training grant from MPOETC.
Section 2. The County of Allegheny hereby agrees that while receiving any funds from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania pursuant to Act 120 of 1974 it shall adhere to the rules, regulations and training standards established by MPOETC.
Section 3. If any provision of this Resolution shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Resolution which shall be in full force and effect.
Section 4. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
