Resolution of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, requesting information from the Sports & Exhibition Authority regarding requests received for use of the Authority's luxury box and/or tickets at Heinz Field, and further providing for action by Council should the information not be provided.

WHEREAS, the Sports & Exhibition Authority has thirty-six tickets to give away to Steelers' game, including twelve seats in a luxury suite, all provided for by taxpayers' money; and
WHEREAS, the Sports & Exhibition Authority has indicated that there are no rules for determining who gets the tickets or use of the suite, but has stated that they should be utilized for economic development opportunities, marketing the convention center, and marketing the region; and
WHEREAS, as a sponsoring municipality of the Sports & Exhibition Authority, Allegheny County is concerned with how public tax dollars are utilized by the Authority and will exercise its oversight by reviewing requests that were made and granted by the Authority;
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1.
The Executive Director of the Sports & Exhibition Authority is hereby requested to provide County Council and the Chief Executive with a list of individuals who requested use of the Authority's tickets and suite on a weekly basis, and a list of individuals who were granted use of the Authority's tickets and suite following each home game.
SECTION 2.
Compliance with these provisions will be taken into consideration as to Sports & Exhibition Authority appointments and appropriations.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this Resolution shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Resolution which shall be in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
