Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Council of Allegheny County to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on June 9, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Allegheny County Courthouse Gold Room, located at 436 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, PA. The Council President shall designate a presiding officer for such public hearing.

The primary purpose of this hearing is to allow the opportunity for public comment regarding Bill No. 12162-22, an ordinance amending and supplementing the Allegheny County Code of Ordinances, Division 6, entitled “Parks and Recreation,” through the creation of a new sub Chapter 680, entitled “Certain Agreements Prohibited,” in order to prohibit the leasing, sale and/or any other agreements that would permit or otherwise facilitate private and/or public entities engaging in any industrial or commercial land uses within Allegheny County’s parks.
Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings. Written testimony will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. on June 16, 2022.
Council shall comply with the public notice requirements of Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council. Council Members Anita Prizio, Bethany Hallam, and Michelle Naccarati-Chapkis have made commitments to attend the hearing.
Upon passage of this motion, the Council President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Council is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on June 9, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Allegheny County Courthouse Gold Room, located at 436 Grant Street in Pittsburgh, PA.
All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
