Proclamation recognizing and commending Mr. Dennis Patrick Luther on being named Brentwood VFW Post 1810's Man of the Year.

WHEREAS, each year, Brentwood's Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1810 selects an individual whose devotion to his community is particularly noteworthy as its Man of he Year; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Patrick Luther assumed the duties of Brentwood Library Director in October 2002; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Luther's tenure, the Brentwood Library has become a focal point within the community, where families spend time together, students enrich their learning experience, and individuals from all segments of the community can gather to share their enjoyment of the library's collection; and
WHEREAS, the Brentwood Library has excelled at expanding programs for children aimed at fostering both their reading skills and their enjoyment of reading; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Luther has performed admirably in securing funding for the library, enabling it to provide up to date facilities and excellent services for library patrons ; and
WHEREAS, his skilled advocacy on behalf of the Brentwood Library at borough council meetings has been of immeasurable assistance to the library; and
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a consistent devotion to his community as shown by his willingness to devote time to coaching T-Ball for the Brentwood Athletic Association and soccer for the Brentwood Soccer Association, assisting with Junior Achievement projects, and playing a key role in the activities of Brentwood Citizens for Drug Awareness and Prevention; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Luther continues to refine his vision for the Brentwood Library's ongoing utility and vitality in the coming years;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council recognizes and commends Mr. Dennis Patrick Luther for being named Brentwood VFW Post 1810's Man of the Year; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby salutes and recognizes the accomplishments of Dennis Patrick Luther and expresses its appreciation to him for his past and ongoing contributions to the community, and for his efforts in assisting to improve the overall quality of life of this region.
