Proclamation honoring the career and retirement of Allegheny County worker, Sam Connell.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is privileged to have dedicated employees who commit themselves to the steadfast, public service mission of the County; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Connell, who began working for the Prothonotary's Office over 40 years ago on November 25, 1968, retired from the Department of Court Records on Friday, May 8, 2009; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Mr. Connell's hard work, rock-solid reliability and consistent effort created his reputation as a once-in-a-lifetime employee in the department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Connell has worked with nearly every lawyer in Allegheny County over the span of his impressive career, and he has settled cases under James Clark, Pete Joyce, Michael Coyne and Michael Lamb; and
WHEREAS, we hope current and future County employees will recognize the attributes that Mr. Connell has exemplified over his career, for they are the elements that produce a great worker;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby honors Mr. Samuel Connell's 40-year career of service to our County. Furthermore, we thank Mr. Connell for everything he has done for us, and we wish him good luck as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement.
