Proclamation celebrating the 80th birthday of public servant Vincent Ricupero.

WHEREAS, lifelong Verona resident Vincent James Ricupero's dedication to public service has made him an invaluable asset to the Verona community and to all of Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, throughout his 46-year career, Mr. Ricupero served in virtually every division of the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, retiring with the status of Commander; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ricupero has been active in several professional law enforcement organizations and served as both president of and a member on the board of directors of the Deputy Sheriffs' Association of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his involvement with law enforcement, Mr. Ricupero served on the Verona School Board and also offered his support and efforts to the Verona Democratic Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ricupero's community involvement extends to his memberships in St. Joseph's Church, the Verona Chamber of Commerce, the F.O.E. (Eagles Verona, is I.S.D.A. Penn Hills, the Italian heritage International and the Knights of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ricupero has received multiple accolades throughout his years of public services, including the Domenic T. Roppa Award from the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame and the Thomas J. McGinley Meritorious Award for Outstanding and Dedicated Service to the Deputy Sheriffs' Association of Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ricupero was also the loving husband to his late wife, Carol, and is the proud father of 5 children, and grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council joins with Vincent James Ricupero's family and friends in celebrating his 80th birthday. On behalf of the residents of the Borough of Verona and the citizens of Allegheny County, we wholeheartedly thank you for your many contributions to the cause of public service.
