Proclamation thanking Dr. Charles P. Bostaph for his 34 years of dedicated service to the Community College of Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, Dr. Charles P. Bostaph has been a dedicated employee of the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) Boyce Campus as the Dean of Student Development, Director of Job Placement and Career Services, Director of the Career and Counseling Center, and Director of Career Planning and Placement; and
WHEREAS, as Dean of Student Development, Dr. Bostaph was responsible for leading a student development team of 80 staff members and faculty, establishing student development programs, planning strategic priorities, budgeting and financial management, promoting shared governance and technological applications to learning; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bostaph has served as the chair of more than 10 search committees and numerous selection committees for CCAC; He also served as the President of WESTPACS, 44 colleges and universities Career Services Departments in Western Pennsylvania, as a member of the CCAC Criminal Justice Board, Mon Valley Providers Council Steering Committee, and Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few; and
WHEREAS, in addition to teaching counseling psychology for Waynesburg University and philosophy/psychology for CCAC, Dr. Bostaph has published several books and articles related to career planning, training and employment;
WHEREAS, Dr. Bostaph earned his doctoral degree in higher education from the University of Pittsburgh;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby commends Dr. Charles P. Bostaph for his 34 years of dedicated service to the Community College of Allegheny County and we wish him all the best upon the occasion of his retirement. His impact on this community, and his commitment to Allegheny County and its citizens, serves as an inspiration to us all.
