Proclamation commending CAPA alumnus Chris Garver for his world-renowned artistic abilities.

WHEREAS, on September 11, 1970 Chris Garver was born in Pittsburgh, where he spent his childhood in the city's East End neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Garver attended traditional educational organizations in Pittsburgh before enrolling full time at The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts to pursue his talents; and
WHEREAS, as a CAPA student, Mr. Garver explored painting and drawing; it was during this period of time that Mr. Garver discovered his interest for tattooing; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from CAPA in 1988, he pursued a path to become a tattoo artist. His journey has taken him around the world, where he has studied under legendary Japanese tattoo masters and established an unprecedented quality of work that is sought after by celebrities and admired by aspiring artists; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Garver is now showcased on a reality television show that provides insight to the art he has conquered, and he has recently demonstrated his entrepreneurial skills by co-founding a children's clothing line. The Friends of CAPA are proud to call this successful artist an alumnus of the school;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, this Council hereby commends Mr. Garver's outstanding artistic abilities and his world renowned talents. Furthermore, CAPA is proud to have been able to encourage the growth of Mr. Garver's unique skills. We wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
