Proclamation recognizing Mayor Don Dolde of Bridgeville for being voted Mayor of the Year in Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Mr. Donald Dolde, currently serving his fifth term as Mayor of the Borough of Bridgeville, was named “Mayor of the Year” by the Pennsylvania State Mayors' Association, topping 1,000 of his colleagues across the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dolde grew up in Presto and has lived in Bridgeville the entirety of his adult life; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Bridgeville High School he worked at Bell Telephone Company, followed by working as a parts manager for a car dealership in Bethel Park, then at Universal Cyclops steel mill, and as an electronics technician at a traffic control and engineering firm. He also owned Bridgeville Paint and Hardware for 23 years and was manager of a Goodwill store in Shadyside for 5 years; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Dolde has served on the Bridgeville Borough Planning Commission for over 20 years and he supports many local organizations and activities, including the annual Memorial Day parade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and congratulate Mayor Don Dolde upon being named the 2007 Mayor of the Year by the Pennsylvania State Mayors' Association. Your achievement has set a high standard of commitment and dedication which the citizens of our great County of Allegheny may follow and serves as an inspiration to the residents of Bridgeville, this Council and to all.
