Proclamation honoring St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church upon the momentous occasion of their 100^th Anniversary.

Body

WHEREAS, St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church will celebrate its 100^th Anniversary this year with the theme Celebrating our Past, Present and Future; and

                     WHEREAS, the church is the first parish in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to be established under the patronage of Saint Columbkille; and

WHEREAS, currently, St. Columbkille has 1,552 families and 4,410 parishioners registered; and

WHEREAS, an anniversary committee dedicated to planning the year long celebration has been working on special activities and events including a new parish pictorial directory, relic display, Healing Mass, Pirate game outing, lottery calendar, ethnic food festival and the construction of a new Prayer Garden; and

WHEREAS, additional plans include a Prayer-A-Day booklet for all parishioners as well as a “new” look for the Church throughout the Christmas season;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and congratulate St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church upon the momentous occasion of its 100^th Anniversary Celebration.  We wish the parish continued blessings and a bright future as we celebrate and remember the 100 year history of St. Columbkille.
