Proclamation thanking The Honorable Edward Duss for his more than 60 years of dedicated service to Shaler Township.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as The Honorable Edward Duss, who has placed his stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, as both a public servant and strong leader; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Edward Duss, a longtime resident of Shaler Township, served in World War II with the United States Navy as a Seabee; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Edward Duss joined the Shaler Township Police Department as a Police Officer and finished his law enforcement career as a Lieutenant after 35 years and 9 months of dedicated service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Edward Duss was elected by the people to represent Ward 1 of Shaler Township in 1992, and he has served on the Shaler Township Board of Commissioners for 24 years, working diligently to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Shaler Township through responsive, innovative and effective governance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby congratulates The Honorable Edward Duss upon the occasion of his retirement, we thank him for his more than 60 years of genuine and unwavering public service, and we wish him health and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
