Proclamation honoring Mr. Thomas Timcho for his outstanding managerial skills and for receiving a Diamond Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times.

WHEREAS, by managing our hospitals with superior, outstanding skills, the leaders of Allegheny County's health systems contribute to our region's stellar reputation as a pioneer in the health care industry; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas Timcho, president and chief executive officer of Jefferson Regional Medical Center, received a Diamond Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times in recognition of his incredible leadership style that helped the hospital rebound from troubled times to become a success; and
WHEREAS, when Mr. Timcho was named interim president and the CEO of the hospital in 2003, the entity was struggling to operate; and
WHEREAS, by replacing outdated equipment, consolidating the hospitals two campuses into one building, and - most importantly - injecting a positive character and attitude into the hospital's staff, Mr. Timcho assisted largely in saving Jefferson Regional; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Timcho's open-door management style was a key to helping the hospital survive, and we are pleased he was able to carry his unique personality and skilled talents to one of our County's most important hospitals;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby recognizes Mr. Thomas Timcho for excellently managing Jefferson Regional Medical Center and for receiving the Diamond Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times. We hope Mr. Timcho's successful executive style will continue to bolster this great hospital.
