Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Council of Allegheny County to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.H. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council and the requirements of the Municipalities Planning Code, 53P.S. §1010 et seq. on October 23, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. The primary purpose of this hearing is to allow the public the opportunity to comment on "Allegheny Places" the Allegheny County Comprehensive Plan and to fulfill a requirement of the Municipalities Planning Code which requires a 45 day public review and comment period before the comprehensive plan is adopted by the County.

Public testimony will be scheduled beginning at 5:00. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings. Written testimony will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. October 23, 2008.
Council shall comply with the public notice requirements of the Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. §1010, as well as Article II.H. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council.
Council Members Finnerty, Green and Macey have made commitments to attend the hearing with Chairman Finnerty.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Economic Development Committee is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council and the Municipalities Planning Code, 53P.S. §1010 et seq. on October 23, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Michael J. Finnerty, Chair will serve as the presiding officer.
All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
