Proclamation recognizing Mr. Sherman Barnette for his 40 years of unwavering commitment to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

WHEREAS, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has been blessed with hard working individuals, such as Mr. Sherman Barnette, who has devoted more than 40 years of outstanding service to the Association; and
WHEREAS, for the past 30 years, Mr. Barnette has served in Crusade Ministries for the BGEA, and he has pastored for more than 10 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Barnette has demonstrated his devotion to the Lord's work by employing exemplary leadership skills as the director of countless festivals, crusades and celebrations across the nation, bringing hundreds of thousands of Christians together and presenting an encouraging message of hopefulness and faith; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Barnette grew up in a rural town in Mississippi, graduated from Calhoun High School, attended Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi, and Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, upon his well-deserved retirement, Mr. Barnette will be free to spend more time with his wife of 44 years, Linda, their two children, Chad and Mandy, and three cherished grandchildren, Mary Carter, Ben and Mary Claire;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Mr. Sherman Barnette for his unwavering dedication and commitment to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Mr. Barnette's impact on communities across the nation, serves as an inspiration to us all, and we wish him and his family all the best as he moves into the future.
