Motion of the Council of Allegheny County amending the Rules of Allegheny County Council by eliminating the requirement for time and place of Council's Organizational Meeting.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,

 

 

That Article I., Section 1(a) of the Rules of Council, which presently reads:

 

1)                     Organizational Meeting

a)                     County Council shall organize itself on the first business day of January following each general municipal election at 5:00 PM at the County Courthouse. At each organizational meeting of County Council, the At-Large Member of the party with the greatest number of County Council seats shall serve as Presiding Officer over the meeting until the Council elects one of its Members as President. The Chief Clerk will conduct the election of the President in accordance with Section B of this Article.  Thereafter, the President shall preside and shall establish Committees of Council, and appoint committee Chairs.

 

Is hereby amended to read as follows:
