Certificate of Recognition honoring broadcaster Steve Blass' 50th anniversary with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Body
This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Mr. Steve Blass in recognition of his 50th season within the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization. Mr. Blass began his playing career with the Pirates in 1960, when he was drafted as a pitcher. Throughout his career, Mr. Blass was considered to be one of the premiere pitchers of his era. In 1971, he won two games in the World Series to help the Pirates claim the world championship. After his playing career ended, Mr. Blass became a member of the Pirates' front office, and, for the past 20 years, has been part of the Pirates' broadcasting team. We commend Mr. Blass' longevity with the club and are more than honored to have him call Allegheny County his home. We also thank him for his many years of service to one of our community's most historic franchises, and we wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
