Proclamation congratulating Mr. John Lydon, Chief Executive Officer of Auberle, for winning the Pittsburgh Business Times 2014 Diamond Award.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; such as Pittsburgh Business Times 2014 Diamond Award Winner, John Lydon; and
WHEREAS, the annual Diamond Awards honor Pittsburgh's best CEOs, company presidents or equivalent high-level individuals in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland counties; and
WHEREAS, John Lydon is the Chief Executive Officer at Auberle, a faith-based nonprofit organization with the mission to help troubled children and families heal themselves; and
WHEREAS, Auberle serves 3,000 children and families each year through various programming, including residential care, foster care, emergency shelter, in-home intervention, education, workforce development, as well as drug, alcohol and mental health programs; and
WHEREAS, John has shown exceptional leadership and commitment in his role of CEO at Auberle. His dedication to creating a resourceful and comprehensive nonprofit organization to better serve the population of the County and individual communities is admirable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby recognizes John Lydon for his contributions to support the citizens of Allegheny County. John is a true example of civic leadership and engagement in one's community, and we are glad to call him a resident of our County.
