Proclamation recognizing Conservation Consultants, Incorporated for their dedication to educating consumers about protecting the environment and for demonstrating a commitment to civic responsibility.
Body
WHEREAS, in 1979, Conservation Consultants, Incorporated (CCI) was established with the mission of educating consumers about and supporting responsible energy use in homes and other buildings; and
WHEREAS, based out of Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood, CCI offers educational tours of their environmentally-friendly headquarters facility, which features the use of solar panels and state-of-the-art light and energy solutions; and
WHEREAS, CCI also conducts a residential energy audit program geared towards assessing the energy consumption in homes and developing plans to reduce energy useage; and
WHEREAS, in the past year alone, CCI has worked with over 5,000 local low-income families, helping them cut their utility bills while simultaneously teaching them how to use energy more efficiently; and
WHEREAS, in addition to its dedication to protecting the environment, CCI has distinguished itself as a local non-profit organization reflecting a great deal of civic responsibility by voluntarily paying both county and city property taxes on its building;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby thank Conservation Consultants, Incorporated (CCI) for making Allegheny County a better place to live by educating consumers on how to conserve energy in order to protect the environment and by demonstrating its commitment to civic responsibility. Your efforts serve as an inspiration to the members of this Council, and to all the citizens of Allegheny County.
