Proclamation recognizing Suzanne C. Goetz for her unparalleled dedication and commitment to serving the Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania and for her efforts in helping restore the community of Millvale.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as Suzanne C. Goetz who has placed her stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, by her continued efforts in her work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, after attending Mount Alvernia High School and graduating from Shaler Area High School, she was employed as a part-time front-desk worker for the Boys and Girls Club of Millvale. Her talents in the area of dance were recognized and she was retained as the Dance Program Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Suzanne has held the positions of Para-Professional/Building Supervisor with the Boys and Girls Club while continuing her responsibilities as Dance Program Coordinator, and in 2004, she was promoted to the full-time position of Para-Professional Staff for the Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, throughout the clean-up efforts needed as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan in Millvale, Suzanne organized and implemented after school and evening programs for hundreds of youth in various sites in the local area for four months until the local Boys and Girls Club resumed operations;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby recognizes and commends Mrs. Suzanne C. Goetz for her unparalleled dedication and commitment to serving the Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania. This Council applauds her efforts in helping restore the community of Millvale, serving as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
