Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Council to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article VII, Section 7(b) of the Home Rule Charter and §5-801.08.A(2) of the Administrative Code, on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Council President Rich Fitzgerald or his designee shall serve as the presiding officer. The purpose of these hearings is to allow the public opportunity to comment on the proposed amendment to the 2008 operating budget before passage.

Public testimony is scheduled from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings and are also asked to provide twenty copies of their testimony. Written testimony will be accepted through Tuesday, January 22.
The following Council Members are committed to attend the hearing: Council Member Vince Gastgeb, Council Member Jan Rea, Council Member Chuck McCullough, and Council Member Matt Drozd.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Council is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article VII, Section 7(b) of the Home Rule Charter and §5-801.08.A(2) of the Administrative Code, on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Council President Rich Fitzgerald or his designee shall serve as the presiding officer. All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
