Proclamation congratulating Latodami Nature Center upon the occasion of its 50^th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, Latodami Nature Center; located in North Park, will celebrate its 50^th Anniversary on Saturday, September 28, 2019; and

     WHEREAS, founded in 1969, Latodami Nature Center provides quality programming to schools, scouts, public and private groups year-round; and

     WHEREAS, the Nature Center is approximately 250 acres, which include field, forest, pond, wetland and stream habitats, with a series of nature trails; and

     WHEREAS, over the past 50 years, Latodami Nature Center has promoted education, appreciation and conservation of the park, and encouraged environmental stewardship of natural resources as they affect North Park and the surrounding communities;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council Member Cindy Kirk do hereby honor and congratulate Latodami Nature Center upon the occasion of its 50^th Anniversary, and I thank them for their continued dedication to trail building and maintenance and educating all about the many aspects of the local environment.
