This Certificate of Recognition is presented to Joseph and Goldie Szarka upon the momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Szarka were married on December 20, 1958 in the Free Magyar Reformed Church in McKeesport by the Reverend Louis Nagy. Mr. Szarka came to America in 1957, as a refugee freedom fighter as a result of the 1956 revolution that broke out in Hungary that year. In Hungary he worked in the meat industry and retired in the Pittsburgh area as a meat manager. Mrs. Szarka was a legal secretary in McKeeport and Pittsburgh. They are the proud parents of five daughters and the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren. Your commitment to each other and dedication to your family serves as an inspiration to this Council and the citizens of Allegheny County. Allegheny County Council congratulates and recognizes you upon this happy occasion and we wish you all the best in the future.
