Proclamation honoring the Twin Rivers Council of Governments upon their 30^th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, the Twin Rivers Council of Governments (COG) is a non-profit, voluntary association of several local municipalities including the Boroughs of Elizabeth, Glassport, Liberty, Lincoln, Port Vue, Madison, Versailles, West Mifflin, West Newton, White Oak, the Townships of Elizabeth, Forward, South Versailles and the City of McKeesport; and

WHEREAS, on March 29^th the Twin Rivers COG will hold its 30^th Annual General Assembly Membership Meeting at the Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the Twin Rivers COG has become a viable and visible vehicle for cooperative action among its local governments, working to implement a Regional Plan and continuing to help solve regional problems through joint action; and

WHEREAS, for 30 years, Twin Rivers COG has helped local governments lower costs through shared services and programs such as joint purchasing, contracted bidding for services and special projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby commend the Twin Rivers Council of Governments for its unparalleled dedication and commitment to enhancing the quality of life to numerous residents and communities in Allegheny County.  We celebrate its 30^th Anniversary and wish the organization continued success and growth.
