Mon Yough Area Council PTA/PTSA Teacher of the Year

Allegheny County Council is proud to present this Certificate of Recognition to SMSgt. Otis DiCerbo, an Aerospace Science Instructor with West Mifflin Area High School, for being named the Mon Yough Area Council PTA/PTSA's Teacher of the Year.  SMSgt. DiCerbo was nominated by Cara Donahoe, a senior student in West Mifflin Area High School's JROTC program.  In addition to his work as a teacher, SMSgt. DiCerbo has displayed a strong history of community service, including acting as the Chairman for the Norwin Youth Commission, Vice-President of Aerospace Education with the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Air Force Association, the President-elect of the Norwin Lions Club, and as the former Vice-President of Hillcrest Intermediate PTA.  He served on active duty with the US Air Force in multiple positions and has received seven senior Air Force recruiting badges for exceeding goals, has twice been named in the top 10% of JROTC instructors in the world, and was an Air Force Blue Suit winner for Top 10 Recruiters in the World.  However, despite all of his past accomplishments, it is SMSgt. DiCerbo's dedication to and passion for teaching that have earned him this great honor.  On behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, we congratulate SMSgt. Otis DiCerbo and thank him for his commitment to educating our youth.
