Proclamation honoring CCAC alumna Yvonne Crawford-Burns.

WHEREAS, Ms. Yvonne E. Crawford-Burns has exemplified the definition of a dedicated citizen of our great County with her demonstration of professional, civic and community leadership; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crawford-Burns earned a Business Management Certificate in 1995 and an Associate of Science Degree in Business Management in 1996 from the Community College of Allegheny County, propelling her to Geneva College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crawford-Burns joined the Community College of Allegheny County as an administrator  in 2002 and has been an instrumental leader for the college, holding essential positions such as Evening Administrator, Director of Registration and currently as Dean of Student Development where, among her significant responsibilities, she oversees the Pittsburgh Promise program; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crawford-Burns has served on various committees and boards that advocate for the children of our community to become empowered educationally, and for all of her efforts to better our region, she was selected as one of New Pittsburgh Courier's “50 Women of Excellence” in 2009;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, recognizes Ms. Yvonne E. Crawford-Burns, an alumna of the Community College of Allegheny County, for serving the county proactively and honorably. Furthermore, her fine leadership should be adopted by residents of the County for the betterment of our community.
