Proclamation welcoming the attendees of the 141st Pittsburgh Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church to Allegheny County.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the 141st Session of the Pittsburgh Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church will convene Wednesday, August 27th, through Sunday, August 31st at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 2720 Webster Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and

 

WHEREAS, the Right Reverend C. Garnett Henning, Sr., newly appointed Bishop to the Third Episcopal District, which comprises Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, will preside during the conference; and

 

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Annual Conference will welcome the New Episcopal Supervisor, Mrs. Ernestine Henning, along with delegates from 49 churches from the Pittsburgh District and the Allegheny-Scranton District; and

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. James H. McLemore, Presiding Elder of the Pittsburgh District and Reverend Dr. Eric L. Brown, Presiding Elder of the Allegheny-Scranton District will serve as co-hosts of the conference; and

 

WHEREAS, the host pastors for the Annual Conference are the Reverend Nathaniel Colvin, III and First Lady Reverend Nicole L. Colvin; and

 

WHEREAS, the Annual Conference is expected to be an uplifting and spiritual event;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council hereby welcomes the attendees of the 141st Pittsburgh Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church to Allegheny County.  We wish you success as you embark on your 2008 conference and thank you for your continued commitment to providing our community with opportunities for moral and spiritual development and support.
