Proclamation congratulating Bunola Church of the Nazarene upon the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
Body...
WHEREAS, Bunola Church of the Nazarene, located in Forward Township, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a three-day celebration November 14-16, 2014; and
WHEREAS, on November 15, 1914, Rev. Walter A. Smith began his ministry in Bunola with tent services, and from his ministry came 41 charter members who made up the organization of the church; and
WHEREAS, land was donated where the building, a one-room structure on stilts, was later erected, a basement was added in 1936 and an addition to the back of the church was completed in 1948; and
WHEREAS, for 100 years, Bunola Church of the Nazarene has stood as a pillar of the local community, providing service ministries and spiritual guidance to generations of families and individuals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates Bunola Church of the Nazarene upon the momentous occasion of its 100th Anniversary, and we wish the Church and its congregation continued blessings and express the pride Allegheny County takes in the Church's contributions and services to all citizens of Allegheny County.
