Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Budget & Finance Committee to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Budget & Finance Chair William Russell Robinson will serve as the presiding officer.

The primary purpose of these hearings is to allow the public opportunity to comment on Bill Numbers 3375-07 and 3379-07, enabling legislation for the generation of new revenue for the purpose of supporting public transit systems within Allegheny County through the creation of poured alcoholic drink and/or rental car excise taxes. Public testimony will be scheduled beginning at 5:00. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings and are also asked to provide twenty copies of their testimony. Written testimony will be accepted through Monday, October 8, 2007.
Council Members Joan Cleary and Brenda Frazier have made commitments to attend the hearing with Chairman Robinson.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Budget & Finance Committee is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. Budget & Finance Chair William Russell Robinson will serve as the presiding officer. All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
