Proclamation congratulating Bob Baburich for being named the 2008 Chalfant Citizen of the Year by the "Woodland Progress."

WHEREAS, Chalfant Borough tax collector Mr. Bob Baburich was recently named Chalfant's "2008 Citizen of the Year" by the Woodland Progress; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Baburich has been Chalfant's tax collector for the past 30 years; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work for the Borough, Mr. Baburich also owns his own barbershop, a local gathering place for many Chalfant residents; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Baburich began his career with Chalfant Borough at the age of 21, when he ran for and won the position of justice of the peace, making him the youngest person in the nation to hold the position; and
WHEREAS, in 1978, Mr. Baburich accepted the position of tax collector and spent many years focusing on building personal relationships with the residents he has served; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Baburich's service to the community has not only been demonstrated through his work with the Borough, but also through his participating in the Borough's volunteer fire department for more than twenty years;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates Mr. Bob Baburich for being named Chalfant's "2008 Citizen of the Year" by The Woodland Progress. We thank you for your dedication to the residents of Chalfant and wish you success in your future endeavors.
