An Ordinance authorizing acceptance and use, for a period of no less than six (6) months, of a 2004 MINI Cooper from MINI of Pittsburgh by the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office.

                     WHEREAS, MINI of Pittsburgh, a car dealership, desires to permit the use of a 2004 MINI Cooper to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office for limited community and special events at no cost to Allegheny County; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Article IV Section 2(j) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County's Council with the power and duty by ordinance to accepts gifts or donations of personal property on behalf of the County.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF ALLEGHENY HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

 

 

 

SECTION 1.  Authorization of Acceptance and Use of Personal Property

 

A.                     The County Council of Allegheny County does hereby approve the acceptance and use, for a period of no less than six (6) months, from MINI of Pittsburgh, a car dealership, of a 2004 MINI Cooper to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office for limited community and special events at no cost to Allegheny County.

 

B.                     The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such actions as are necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.

 

 

SECTION 2.

 

If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance which shall be in full force and effect.

 

 

SECTION 3.

 

Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
