Body

Awarded to

Officer John Thompson

This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to Officer John Thompson of the Port Vue Police Department for his role in saving the life of Michael Skerkoski.  On June 27, 2008, Glassport Police Officers were already responding to a medical call when they were dispatched to the home of an unresponsive man having difficulty breathing.  Glassport Police requested that Officer Thompson attend to the scene.  Officer Thompson quickly arrived at the scene and performed life-saving actions with an Automated External Defibrillator device and the use of CPR, providing a media unit from McKeesport with enough time to arrive and begin Advanced Life support measures.  On behalf of the residents of Allegheny County, we hereby commend Officer John Thompson on his quick thinking and extraordinary efforts that helped save the life of Michael Skerkoski.  Your commitment to serving and protecting the residents of Allegheny County is an inspiration to the members of this Council and to all the residents of Allegheny County.
