Allegheny County Council is pleased to welcome The Honorable Dr. Gennaro Capo, Mayor of Castel San Lorenzo, Italy, to the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.  Mayor Capo is from the ancestral home of Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto. Mayor Capo serves more than 2,000 families that call Castel San Lorenzo home. Located at the foot of the Matese massif, near Mounts Ebrano and Mutria in the southern province of Salerno, San Lorenzo offers spectacular views and is famous for its wine production. Boat races take place on the Calore River below the town of Castel San Lorenzo and it is also where they host the Summer Campus of the Italian Environmental Protection League. Castel San Lorenzo’s patron Saint is John the Baptist. Mayor Capo’s dedication, loyalty and commitment to Castel San Lorenzo inspires Italian-Americans and the entire community. We hope you can partake in the wonderful arts and culture, sports, dining and nightlife that Pittsburgh has to offer. On behalf of Allegheny County Council, we invite you to return to Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for future meetings, and we extend our warm welcome to you and your families.
