Proclamation recognizing and honoring Council Member Dave Fawcett for his contributions to the cause of good government and his dedication and service to the residents of Allegheny County.
Body
WHEREAS, Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have been blessed with exemplary leadership throughout their history, with visionaries of great skill and determination making invaluable contributions to our communities, our County and the world; and
WHEREAS, David Fawcett's election in 2000 reflected great respect for and confidence in his abilities as a leader and community champion from the voters of the district, for whom he has remained steadfast in his dedication, in the best tradition of American public service; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as an At-Large Representative, Council Member Fawcett served on the three-member Allegheny Board of Elections and the Economic Development &Housing Committee, as well as the Chair of the Special Committee on Riverfronts, while simultaneously addressing those matters brought to him by his constituents at all times throughout his dedicated service to the residents of the County;
WHEREAS, through his leadership of the Special Committee on Riverfronts, Council Member Fawcett has been instrumental in creating a cooperative effort between the County Department of Parks & Recreation, the Council's Committee on Parks, the Parks & Recreation Commission, the Riverlife Task Force and the County's riverfront communities to create a Countywide Riverfront Park, as well as spearheading an effort to generate an Allegheny County Countywide Riverfront Park Commission to assist in the administration of County policy with regard to the creation of the Countywide Riverfront Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council hereby recognizes Council Member David Fawcett for his tremendous contributions to the cause of good government and citizen participation, and for representing the citizens...
