Proclamation congratulating Dr. Thomas A. Lesniewski upon receiving the honor of being named the 2007 Pennsylvania Middle Level Principal of the Year.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals named Dr. Thomas A. Lesniewski, Principal of Deer Lakes Middle School, the 2007 Middle Level Principal of the Year; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Lesniewski will be honored at their annual banquet and awards ceremony to be held October 21-23, 2007 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and his name has been submitted to the National Association for inclusion with other state winners in the competition for the MetLife/NASSP National Principal of the Year award; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Lesniewski's innovation has helped move the Deer Lakes Middle School into the twenty-first century technologically; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Lesniewski has been instrumental in creating a positive school climate which is reflected in improved student achievement and good parent/teacher relationships; and

 

WHEREAS, through Dr. Lesniewski's vision, the Middle School is preparing for accreditation by the Middle States Association; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Dr. Thomas A. Lesniewski upon receiving the honor of being named the 2007 Pennsylvania Middle Level Principal of the Year.  We thank you for helping students improve their scores in reading, mathematics, and writing, and commend your leadership and guidance, which serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the residents of Allegheny County.
