Proclamation honoring Allegheny County Police Officers Keith Cecotti and Christopher Swanson for saving the life of Mr. Paul Kvederis in South Park on April 11, 2015.

WHEREAS, on April 11, 2015, Allegheny County Police Officers Keith Cecotti and Christopher Swanson responded to and rendered medical aid to an unconscious 80 year old park patron, Paul Kvederis, on Maple Springs Drive in South Park; and
WHEREAS, Officers Cecotti and Swanson recognized that Mr. Kvederis was no longer breathing, had no pulse and required life-saving emergency medical treatment to save him from dying; and
WHEREAS, Officers Cecotti and Swanson requested emergency medical assistance, administered CPR and successfully used the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Once Mr. Kvederis' pulse and breathing stabilized he was transported to St. Clair Hospital by ambulance; and
WHEREAS, working together, Officers Cecotti and Swanson helped save Mr. Kvederis life, and we salute them for their quick response, decisive actions and application of training and experience; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kvederis is well today because of the heroic actions of Officers Cecotti and Swanson;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby honor Allegheny County Police Officers Keith Cecotti and Christopher Swanson for their lifesaving act, and we bestow our highest commendation for their commitment to the safety and well-being of Allegheny County's residents. The actions of Officers Cecotti and Swanson bring great credit to themselves, the Allegheny County Police Department and Allegheny County.
