Proclamation commending the Fire Department of North Versailles (F.D.N.V.) for their dedicated service.

           WHEREAS,      in 1999, the Dixon Hollow, Sunset-Central and Green Valley Fire Departments merged to create the Fire Department of North Versailles, also known as F.D.N.V.; and
 
      WHEREAS, F.D.N.V. Stations 210-213-214 mission is to preserve life, protect property and the environment, and promote public safety by providing quality fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and prevention and education services throughout the North Versailles Township area, and when called upon, to other fire departments in neighboring communities; and  
 
      WHEREAS, the F.D.N.V. maintains a constant state-of-readiness through ongoing training and certification of personnel in response to the increasing public service role of the fire department; and      
 
      WHEREAS, the F.D.N.V. has met nationally recognized and sanctioned professional qualification standards by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Participation Department Recognition Program; and
 
      WHEREAS, the F.D.N.V. provides education services for North Versailles businesses, organizations, and the community;
      
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and commend the Fire Department of North Versailles for their courage and dedication to their duties; their numerous acts of bravery displayed; and their high professional standards in protecting the North Versailles area, as well as their unwavering dedication to safety and rescue.  This Council also extends its deepest appreciation to the Department not only for combating fires but also for the watchful protection and service they provide to North Versailles Township, and we commend the Department's selfless efforts and recognize their heroic deeds, which have earned the esteem of the citizens of Allegheny County.
