Proclamation celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Allegheny County Boroughs Association.

Body

WHEREAS, at a meeting held in Wilkinsburg on January 21, 1949, the Allegheny County Boroughs Association was formally organized; and

WHEREAS, over the years the Association has grown and now takes pride in a membership of 72 boroughs; and

WHEREAS, principally established to promote borough government, the Association also cooperates with other quasi-public organizations and civic groups for the general improvement of local government; and

WHEREAS, the Association provides its members with information and assistance on problems affecting the operations of their boroughs; and

WHEREAS, through fiscal responsibility and active participation from Board members, the Association is financially stable and well-prepared for the future;    

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize the continued good works of the Allegheny County Boroughs Association and we join in celebrating the organization's 60^th anniversary.

FURTHERMORE, we thank the Allegheny County Boroughs Association for their dedication and commitment to serving local government, and for leaving a rich legacy for those who will follow.
