Proclamation congratulating and honoring Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department #263 for its 75 years of dedicated public safety services to residents of Sharps Hill and the surrounding communities.

Body

WHEREAS, the hundreds of volunteer fire departments located within Allegheny County have become mainstays of public safety and the protection of property within the County; and

 

WHEREAS, firefighters with each of these volunteer fire departments have repeatedly displayed exemplary bravery and professionalism in the face of extreme danger to themselves; and

 

WHEREAS, the volunteer firemen of Allegheny County, in the performance of their duty each and every day, have become symbols of dedication and heroism within the community; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department #263, located in Shaler Township, offers Fire and Quick Response Emergency Medical Services to the residents of Sharps Hill and the surrounding communities; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department and its Members are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Department on August 20, 2005;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate and honor Sharps Hill Volunteer Fire Department #263 for its 75 years of dedicated public safety services to residents of Sharps Hill and the surrounding communities.  This commitment to the safety and well-being of the County's residents both inspires us and arouses our deepest gratitude.  On the occasion of this 75th Anniversary celebration, we commend the past and present firemen of the Department for their unflinching bravery and professionalism in the best tradition of the volunteer fire service, and offer our sincerest congratulations and best wishes for the future.
