Proclamation congratulating Saint Sebastian School Junior Varsity Football Team for winning the Junior Varsity 2005 Diocesan Championship.

WHEREAS, Saint Sebastian School is celebrating its' 50th year of providing exceptional education for the North Hills of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, Saint Sebastian School has always supported and enjoyed athletic programs; and
WHEREAS, in 2005, Saint Sebastain had a banner year with the Knights Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Team winning the 2005 JV Diocesan Championship and the JV Cheerleaders also winning the 2005 JV Diocesan Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Sebastian Knights JV Football Team, under the direction of Head Coach Jim Spagnolo, continued the schools winning performance entering into the North Division 1A Championship with a unbeaten record of 7-0; and
WHEREAS, on October 31st at Shaler Turf Field, the Saint Sebastian Knights JV Football Team won the North Division 1A Championship beating a previously undefeated team 38-6, and continued on to the Diocesan Championship with a 9-0 record; and
WHEREAS, on November 6th at Art Rooney Field on the Campus of Duquesne University, in a classic run-pass-defensive team game, the Saint Sebastian Knights JV Football Team were victorious beating the previously undefeated South 1A Champions by a score of 18-0, making the Knights the 2005 JV Diocesan Champions with a perfect 10-0 record;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of Allegheny County hereby commends and congratulates the Saint Sebastian Knights JV Football Team, Coach Jim Spagnolo and his Assistant Coaches, and Principle of Saint Sebastian, Sister Dorothy Dolak, V.S.C., upon capturing the 2005 Diocesan Championship.
