An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing acceptance of 224 grave sites at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville for use by veterans of Allegheny County.

                     Whereas, the Community United Methodist Church of Irwin, Pennsylvania has offered to donate 224 grave sites to Allegheny County Department of Veterans Services for use for indigent veterans; and

 

                     Whereas, Article IV, Sections 2.j. of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests the County's Council with the power to accept donations of real and personal property on behalf of the County.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

 

SECTION 1                     Incorporation of the Preamble.

 

                     The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by

reference in their entirety herein.

 

SECTION 2.  Acceptance of 224 Grave Sites

 

                     County Council does hereby authorize the acceptance of 224 graves at Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville, Pennsylvania donated by the Community United Methodist Church of Irwin, Pennsylvania.  The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization and distribution to veterans and veterans' families of the graves as deemed appropriate by the Director of Veterans Services

 

SECTION 3.                                           Severability.                        If any provision of this Ordinance shall be determined to be unlawful, invalid, void or unenforceable, then that provision shall be considered severable from the remaining provisions of this Ordinance, which shall be in full force and effect.

 

SECTION 4.                                           Repealer.   Any Resolution or Ordinance or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
