Proclamation congratulating Coach Danny Holzer upon the occasion of his 400th career win with Upper St. Clair boys basketball team.

WHEREAS, Coach Danny Holzer is an exemplary individual who has devoted his life to his family and his community, has dedicated himself to making history more meaningful for students, and has been a true inspiration to the Upper St. Clair boys basketball team; and
WHEREAS, 24 years ago, Coach Danny began his coaching career at Upper St. Clair High School; and
WHEREAS, during his storied high school basketball coaching career, Coach Danny led his team to two WPIAL championships, one WPIAL runner-up finish, seven section titles and a 400-198 overall record; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure at Upper St. Clair High School, his team made 20 trips to the WPIAL playoffs. In 2004-2005, Coach Danny guided the Upper St. Clair boys basketball team to a 27-3 record in Class 4A, winning WPIAL and section titles, and advancing to the PIAA second round; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2019, Coach Danny earned his 400th career win as the Upper St. Clair boys basketball coach; and
WHEREAS, Coach Danny, a dedicated American history teacher for 22 years at Upper St. Clair High School, attributes his success to his unwavering commitment to seeing his students succeed academically and athletically; and
WHEREAS, Coach Danny’s greatest skill is mentoring his players with life lessons to carry them beyond the basketball court, teaching them daily to never quit and to work hard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Sue Means, do hereby congratulate Coach Danny Holzer upon the occasion of his 400th career win, and on behalf of Allegheny County Council, we thank him for his hard work and dedication to the Upper St. Clair boys basketball team.
