Title
Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the Council of Allegheny County to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on January 15, 2009, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. The President shall be the presiding officer for such public hearing. The primary purpose of this hearing is to allow the opportunity for public comment on Bill No. 4201-08, a bill which would establish a Countywide nondiscrimination requirement in housing, employment, and other contexts, as well as a formalized means of resolving disputes based on allegations of such discrimination.

Public testimony will be scheduled beginning at 5:00. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings. Written testimony will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. January 16, 2009.
Council shall comply with the public notice requirements of Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council.
President Fitzgerald and Council Members Cleary and Green have made commitments to attend the hearing.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Council is hereby authorized to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Article II.G. of the Rules of Allegheny County Council on January 15, 2009, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse.
All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
